Gorgonzola Salad Dressing

Gorgonzola Salad Dressing

Gorgonzola cheese, hailing from the Lombardy and Piedmont regions of Italy, boasts a history that dates back to the early Middle Ages. Legend has it that this distinctive blue cheese was discovered accidentally when a young cheese maker left a batch of fresh cheese in a damp cave, allowing the naturally occurring mold to permeate and transform it into the now-famous Gorgonzola. Over the centuries, the cheese gained popularity among Italian royalty and nobility, earning a reputation for its unique, pungent flavor and creamy texture.

In the 20th century, Gorgonzola received protected designation of origin (PDO) status, safeguarding its traditional production methods and geographical origin. Today, this iconic blue cheese continues to be crafted with the same artisanal techniques, ensuring that each wedge captures the essence of centuries-old craftsmanship and a rich cultural heritage. Gorgonzola's journey through time reflects not just a cheese, but a story of innovation, craftsmanship, and the enduring love for a truly exceptional dairy creation.
